Proverbs 16:3

Proverbs 16:3 “Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.”

Reflection:
This verse reminds us to entrust our daily work and long-term plans to God. True success and stability come not from our own skill or ambition, but from aligning our lives with God’s will. Human understanding is limited, and self-reliance without God can lead to frustration or failure. Committing our work to the Lord is more than just praying over tasks—it’s a conscious choice to orient our intentions, decisions, and actions toward God. When we do this, our plans are “established”—not always in ease or immediate success, but in participation with God’s redemptive work.

To live this verse:

Start with God in mind each day, project, or task.

Align your goals with God’s purposes, letting love, justice, and mercy guide your decisions.

Trust God’s providence, even when outcomes differ from your expectations.

Faithful work done in dependence on God is never wasted. When we commit our work to God, we find true fulfilment, purpose, and peace. Our vocations—whether as students, workers, or family members—become a way to reflect God’s love in the world.

Remember, this verse calls us to faithful surrender, not self-reliant striving. As we commit our plans to God, we participate in God’s work, finding stability and blessing in God’s guidance.

Gracious God,
Help us to commit all we do—our work, studies, and daily tasks—into Your hands. Guide our intentions, align our plans with Your purposes, and let love and mercy shape our actions. Even when outcomes differ, may our faithful work reflect Your love and bring glory to Your name. In Jesus’ name,
