Please pray with us for the children kidnapped from schools in Nigeria. If you can, pray the prayer below for nine consecutive days. Known as a novena, the practice is based on the nine days the Apostles prayed together in an upper room after Jesus’ ascension and before Pentecost, when they received the Holy Spirit.

Heavenly Father,
We come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up the school children in Nigeria who have been kidnapped.
Lord, You see where they are, You know their fears, and You hear their silent cries.
We ask for Your divine protection to surround every child — cover them with Your wings and keep them safe from all harm.
Father, touch the hearts and minds of those who took them.
Break the chains of violence and hatred, and let conviction, mercy, and repentance enter their spirits.
Move the authorities, the military, and every person involved in the rescue — give them wisdom, courage, and clarity so that these children may return home swiftly and unharmed.
Lord, strengthen the parents who are waiting, trembling, and praying through sleepless nights.
Comfort them with Your peace that passes all understanding.
Let them feel Your presence even in the darkest hour.
We declare hope where there is fear.
We declare freedom where there is captivity.
We declare restoration where there is brokenness.
May every kidnapped child return safely,
May every wound be healed,
And may Your justice and mercy prevail in Nigeria.
