World Day of Prayer

I made you wonderful

Loving Creator

Loving Creator

Loving Creator,
there are so many in suffering and need,
lots of hungry mouths to feed,
it doesn’t escape colour or creed,
because your law we failed to heed:
to love our neighbours as ourselves.
This is the world we have created.

Good stewards we should be,
and be concern for everyone’s needs,
just as you intended and in your Word decreed,
but we have failed because of our greed;
failed to love and neighbours as ourselves.
This is the world we have created.

Our choices, and decisions, our misdeeds,
sometimes have little or no thought on the impact of others
we have to concede,
but creation is ample and full of grace
with opportunities to sow good seeds.
Help us to respect the earth and all therein, and aim to succeed:
to love our neighbours as ourselves
in this your world, the world you created.

In the name of Jesus we pray.

Prayer in the Park

Prayer in the Park is a day of prayer for the climate in local green spaces this
World Environment Day, Saturday 5 June.

Just a week before world leaders meet in Cornwall for the G7 summit, it’s a powerful opportunity to pray for decisions that create a better world for us all – especially the poorest communities across the world. Join in by heading to your local park or other outdoor spot and lifting up prayers for the climate crisis. You can do this alone or with others (making sure you follow coronavirus restrictions). Don’t forget to pop a reminder in your calendar, or join our Facebook event.
