Love one another
Our Father in heaven, we thank You that there is still so much about this world which is amazing in its beautiful reflection of You, our Creator. We thank You that, at the same time we have been living with the horror of CV19, Your creation has been bursting forth in its seasonal cycle, as You promised in Genesis 8:22. Father, what a comfort and a help is Your written word. We are so thankful we have this awesome resource from Your very heart. You have even given us a prayer to use when we don’t know what else to pray. Now, we ask You to pour out Your Spirit of comfort on those who have lost loved ones to this virus – may they know Your peace.
Father, we know we should love one another as You have loved us…how different and more wonderful would our world be if everyone obeyed this command. You know there are some who think they are superior to others simply because of the colour of their skin – what a foolish and dangerous thought that is…show them only YOU are superior. Sometimes, we wonder how we have come to this sorry state when You have provided everything we could possibly want. But we have turned away from You – in every aspect of life we have left You out and think we can live as well, or even better, without You. Those of us who call ourselves Christians have played our part, too, because we have not spoken up against laws and policies which exclude you. Father, forgive us for remaining silent – we are truly sorry.
We ask You to comfort those who have faced racism and those who have even seen loved ones die because of it. This evil has been with us for generations. Lord, we ask that You will change hearts and minds – that men and women on both sides of this issue will turn to you and seek the Truth. We thank You Father for Your words in Psalm 66 which encourage us to let our praises rise to You because of all You have done. Thank You Father, for Jesus who paid that awful price. We also thank You for the promise in Habakkuk 2:14 ‘For the earth WILL be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the seas’. Hallelujah!
For you to ponder…HAPPY MOMENTS – PRAISE GOD
DIFFICULT MOMENTS – SEEK GOD
QUIET MOMENTS – WORSHIP GOD
PAINFUL MOMENTS – TRUST GOD
EVERY MOMENT – THANK GOD
