Heavenly Father…

Heavenly Father, we thank You and praise You for all Your goodness to us. We thank You that You hold us in such high esteem that You actually call us ‘the apple of Your eye’. We thank You that You promise to ‘contend with those who contend with us and You will save our children.’ (Is.49:25b) We want to stand on that promise so that we will never have to ‘fight our corner’. You promise to do that for us – in fact, You have already fought our battles and won. Jesus came and paid the great price. Hallelujah, what a God we have! Who is there like You? There is no other. Father, You have proved You are on our side – You have proved You are for us, so who can stand against us? (Rom. 8:31) If we abide in You, You will abide in us – help us to follow in Jesus’ footsteps so we shall be able to show Jesus to the world about us; we shall make a difference for the Kingdom in ‘our small corner’ where You have placed us.

Father, Your word says to pray for those in authority, so we lift to You our Government, both national and local. Our nation is in a dark place – there is unrest all around. Our government is in chaos and some of our representatives are not setting a good example of citizenship or care for others. Lord, we ask You to bring back the desire to enquire of You, to pray for Your leading, to ask You to have Your way. Your word says, ‘where there is ignorance of God, the people run wild; but when people attend to what You reveal, they are most blessed.’ (Proverbs 29:18, Living Bible & The Message) Oh Lord, awaken our nation to attend Your ways. We want to be a blessed nation; a nation that follows after God. May WDP ladies arise and take the initiative on a daily basis as well as through our annual day of prayer; may we each continue to make a difference right where we are. We ask all this in and through Jesus’ precious name.
