Drawing Near to God in Quiet
Be in my home.
Be in my room.
Sit by me on my bed and draw near to me, Lord.
My knowledge of your unending love is like a gentle breath on my face.
The warmth in my heart is my knowledge of drawing closer to you.
I am still, Lord; I am just me, alone in this bed and on this earth, but encircled by you.
May people of light and glory surround me as I rest, and their heavenly voices sing their praises and prayers to you.
May the stillness and silence be a foretaste of your mesmerising glory.
I can feel you here, Lord; I can feel the light of my heavenly guardians.
Be with me and stay with me evermore.
