Build on a Strong Foundation
March is the month in which we prayer together as a worldwide family. The Ladies of Vanuatu have guided us in thought and word, as we share the common theme for the year ‘Build on a Strong Foundation’. All our prayers this month reflect creation and building and these prayers have all been included in the 2021 Together in Prayer.
A prayer for the mortar that binds the bricks together
Heavenly Father you provide the raw materials for us to work with
With the sand and cement we produce the binding for the bricks producing the solid foundation for our construction
With Your word and following your instructions, we can produce the solid foundations for our life and your work here on earth.
Our trust is in you Lord, the house-builder. Amen
Creator God, in awe we worship you.
The vastness of space and time is beyond our understanding; and the intricacies of miniscule organisms are astonishingly wondrous.
Yet in the immensity and complexity of your creation you value each individual person as precious in your sight.
How incredible this is!
Humbly we approach you in prayer, trusting in your infinite wisdom and compassion.
We praise you for the gift of your son Jesus, through whom we see you as our loving father, and through whom we have been blessed with your Holy Spirit.
We pray that out of your glorious riches you may strengthen us with power through your Spirit in our inner being, so that Christ may dwell in our hearts through faith.
We pray that being rooted and established in love, we may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge – that we may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.

Build on a Firm Foundation
Sand is good for walking on; playing and paddling in the sea.
It is also found in the desert where grows no shrub or tree.
It can be used for drainage and also making glass,
Making concrete and other things, but no good for growing grass.
It is no use as a foundation for buildings larger and tall,
For it gets washed away by floods leaving the building to fall
Rock and stone are hard to break and last for many year
Hard and rocky mountains for some cause many tears.
It takes much time for them to form pressed hard under the ground
Some like marble are wrought with fire, yes, rocks are all around.
That’s why builders dig so deep for building large and tall
For with firm foundations, floods cannot make it fall
There is a rock who came to earth, his name is Christ the Lord
Those who saw his miracle spread his fame abroad.
People build their lives on him even in this age
He can enhance any life, whatever time or stage.
If Christ is your foundation, you will stand strong and tall
For he is the cornerstone, the rock, your building can’t fall.
