As we are at last
As we are at last on the way to being let off the leash (!) I expect today’s note will be the last of the weekly prayer sessions – we’ll revert to monthly ones.
I have been thinking about what it is I have missed most about this ‘stay at home’ rule….apart from family. I have really missed singing praise and worship songs with others.
What an opportunity this is (or will be, when we’re really set free!) to take church to the people. How about organising HUGE praise parties around the country – everyone invited…just come as you are and have a good sing-song, accompanied by one or two really good music groups who know how to lead worship. What a celebration that would be! What an amazing start to our ‘new normal’ and what a great way to show God our appreciation for bringing us through such a dark time. We could also use it to thank God for the lives of those who did not make it through – that way, everyone could come along and wholeheartedly join in.
‘Lord, You have been our dwelling place in all generations. Before the mountains were brought forth or You had formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting You are God. He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God in whom I trust.’ Psalms 90:1-2 & 91:1-2
