Almighty God

Almighty God
Your Word brought life and order upon the whole of creation,
and your Word is still creating life today.
To You everything is uniquely valuable.
To You everyone is equally special.
Forgive us that we do not value human life sufficiently,
that we allow fellow human beings to be persecuted, abused, damaged and destroyed.
We pray for all people everywhere:
for those who feel unloved and undervalued – and for those who do not;
for the persecuted – and for all who persecute them;
for the abused – and for those who abuse them;
for the damaged – and for those who damage them;
for those whose dignity is destroyed – and for those who destroy it.
And we pray for peacemakers that they may begin to build bridges
of understanding to replace barriers of distrust.
We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, the Lord of hope
and the bringer of peace. Amen
