Grants & Donations
St James’s Church, Piccadilly
St James’s Church, Piccadilly, is deeply grateful for the generous grant from the EWNI World Day of Prayer National Committee in 2024. This support has significantly increased our ability to sustain vital community outreach programmes and uphold our mission of justice, inclusivity, and compassion.
The funding has enabled us to provide hot meals for those experiencing homelessness or living on low incomes through our Monday Night Feast and Sunday Breakfast Club food outreach programmes. The grant also contributed to cleaning and supplies for these projects, ensuring our facilities remain clean, safe, and accessible.
Our church continues to serve as a sanctuary for all, fostering a creative and justice-oriented community in the heart of London. With both rough sleeping on the rise and increasing demands on our mental health and refugee and asylum seeker support services, the grant has allowed us to respond to growing needs in Westminster and across London.
By addressing the operational needs of our programmes, we ensure they remain sustainable and impactful. We have recently launched a new format for serving our guests on Sunday mornings, focusing on providing a space for community and hospitality. We now offer a sit-down breakfast service in our church hall, as well as takeaways. This allows for more meaningful interactions and personalised support. This change, undertaken in consultation with our guests, has been well received, enhancing the effectiveness of our outreach projects and the warmth of our welcome.
