Ripple Effect

For almost 40 years, Ripple Effect have been working alongside farming families in East Africa, fighting hunger and the climate crisis towards growing a brighter future. ‘For every family we work with, we know that another three families benefit, because people share what they have learned. Families who are successful are encouraged to pass on seeds, tools and livestock to other community members who need support, becoming donors themselves’.

In 2023, WDP EWNI donated a grant towards the final year of Ripple Effect’s Enterprising Migori Project, Kenya, whose goal was to make families in Migori County, food secure, with sustainable livelihoods and resilience to economic, social and environmental shocks.

We were delighted to receive their end of project report in December 2024, and to hear that despite challenges of climactic factors, Covid-19 and gender-based violence, the project has made a meaningful difference for the families and communities involved – enabling lives to be transformed now and for the future
